2021 BMW 5 Series facelift, which is already on sale in the global market, is ready to make its way to India. The German carmaker will announce its official prices on 24th June 2021. The luxury sedan has received noticeable cosmetic changes and feature upgrades, while the engine setup is likely to be carried forward from the current model. Here, it will continue to face challenge from the Audi A6, Jaguar XF, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Volvo S90. The model might be priced slightly premium over the existing model that costs between Rs 56 lakh – Rs 69.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
– Talking about the styling, the new BMW 5 Series facelift features a slightly larger twin-kidney radiator grille and revised front bumper with a new single-frame design.
– The headlamps have also been redesigned and the brand’s Laserlight tech is reserved for the higher trims. The L-shaped DRLs (daytime running lights) and indicators are placed at the outer edges.
– At the rear section, the sedan gets newly-designed LED taillamps and a new bumper with integrated trapezoidal exhaust tips.
– All variants of the 2021 BMW 5 Series come with the new-generation BMW iDrive infotainment system with 10.3-inch touchscreen head unit.
– The entirely new dashboard with gloss black centre console details and a new lower climate display further enhance its feel and appeal. The luxury sedan might also get a digital instrument cluster.
– As mentioned above, the 2021 BMW 5 Series facelift is likely to come with the existing engine options. It includes a 2.0L petrol in the 530i, a 2.0L diesel in the 520d and a 3.0L diesel in the 530d.
– While the gasoline unit makes power worth 244bhp with 350Nm, the 2.0L diesel and 3.0L diesel motors deliver 118bhp with 400Nm and 257bhp with 690Nm respectively.
– All three engines are paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
