Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to roll out the BS6 Marazzo MPV and the second-generation Thar SUV within next one month. According to a latest media report, the carmaker has already started manufacturing the updated Marazzo at its Nashik based plant in Maharashtra. The MPV will receive the BS6-compliant version of the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, diesel engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. In its BS4 form, the oil burner delivers a peak power of 121bhp against 300Nm of torque.
The 2020 Mahindra Marazzo BS6 will come in three variants (M2, M4+ and M6+), which are reported to be priced between Rs 11.01 lakh – Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom). That said, the updated model will be around Rs 1 lakh more expensive than the BS4 version. Reports suggest that the carmaker will introduce a petrol engine and an automatic gearbox to the Marazzo lineup by the end of this year or early next year. The Mahindra Marazzo petrol is likely to come with a 1.5L turbo mStallion motor that broke cover at this year’s Auto Expo. Its power and torque outputs are expected to stand around 163bhp and 280Nm respectively. The model lineup might also receive an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Unveiled on this Independence day, the new-generation Mahindra Thar will hit roads on 2nd October, 2020. The off-road SUV comes with improved styling, upmarket interior and new engines along with updated mechanism. Buyers will have two engines to choose from – a new 150bhp, 2.0L mStallion petrol and a 130bhp, 2.2L mHawk diesel. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. The 4WD drivetrain system with a manual shift transfer case will be standard across the model lineup.
With the generation change, the Thar has received several features for the first time including LED DRLs, factory-fitted hard top with soft top option, cruise control, climate control , touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and coloured MID for the instrument cluster.
