2 Electric Cars To Launch In Early 2022 – Key Details

While the two-wheeler segment has been witnessing a sudden surge in the electric vehicles’ demand, the four-wheeler space is slowly getting there. As of now, buyers have a few options. Though, there will be a range of the new electric cars that will arrive in coming years. Here’s a brief on the upcoming two EVs, which are scheduled to launch in early 2022.

The Tata Altroz EV is one of the much-awaited upcoming new electric cars in the country. The model was first previewed at the Auto Expo 2020 in its close-to-production avatar. Its final model is likely to hit roads in the first half of the next year. While the automaker hasn’t yet revealed its powertrain details, it’s likely to come with Tata’s Ziptron technology. The Ziptron powertrain includes a permanent magnet AC motor and lithium ion battery pack. It’s likely to deliver a range of 250km – 300km. The Altroz EV will receive some cosmetic changes over the regular model including revised bumpers, newly designed alloy wheels with Blue highlights and blacked out tailgate section. Blue highlights will continue inside the cabin as well.

Mahindra eKUV100 Launch

Mahindra eKUV100 is expected to be the most affordable EV in the country. Slated to launch in early 2022, the electric small SUV features a 15.9kWh battery pack that powers a single electric motor. The power and torque figures of the electric motor stand at 54.4bhp and 120Nm respectively. The battery pack takes 5 hours 45 minutes to get fully charged via a regular charger and 55 minutes (up to 80%) via a fast charger. The eKUV100 is claimed to deliver a range of up to 150km. The production-ready electric KUV100 looks similar to the ICE model. Though, it features a new closed-off front grille with small arrow shaped inserts with blue finish and blue accents on the headlamps and taillamps.
