Mahindra eKUV100 Electric Fully Revealed In Clearest Spy Images

Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown UV maker will soon launch two new electric SUVs – the eKUV100 and the eXUV300 in the country in the next 1 year. The production version of the Mahindra eKUV100 has been spotted completely undisguised for the first time. The mini electric SUV is expected to be launched in the early 2022.

The production version of the Mahindra eKUV100 looks slightly different from the pre-production model debuted at the 2020 Auto Expo. The compact SUV looks very similar to the KUV100 petrol. The biggest difference is the new closed-off front grille with small arrow shaped insert with six finished in blue, and two flaps covering the charging ports.

Blue accents are visible on the headlamps and tail-lamps. There are + and – signs on the number plate housing on the tailgate. The eKUV100 unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo had a different set of alloys with blue inserts, and Mahindra electric badging on the charging flap and a unique triangular badge on the C-pillar.

The Mahindra eKUV100 comes equipped with a 15.9kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor. The electric motor produces 54.4bhp (40kW) and 120Nm of torque. Using regular charger, the battery can be charged to 100% in 5 hr 45min. The battery can achieve 80% charging in 55min using a fast charger. The vehicle is claimed to offer a range of up to 150km; however, Mahindra is working on upgrading the battery to achieve higher range.

The electric KUV100 won’t have a direct rival in India at the time of the launch. Things will change in future, as Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai will launch WagonR electric and the AX1 micro SUV based electric vehicle in our market. The Mahindra eKUV100 is expected to be priced around Rs 9 lakh to Rs 13 lakh.
