2 All-New Tata SUVs, Electric Cars Coming In Next 12 Months

Tata Motors is ready to roll out a range of new models in the coming years. The plan outlines a new 6/7-seater SUV, a mini SUV, a mid-size SUV, electric vehicles and updated versions of the existing models. Here’re the brief about the upcoming 4 new Tata cars (including 2 SUVs and 2 EVs) that are slated to launch in the next 12 months.

1. Tata Gravitas

Tata Gravitas Auto Expo 2020

The Gravitas will be the next big launch from Tata that’s reported to hit roads early next year. Previewed at the 2020 Auto Expo, the SUV will be offered with 6 and 7-seats configurations. Powering the vehicle will be a BS6 170bhp, 2.0L engine that can be had either with a manual or an automatic gearbox. Compared to the Harrier, the Tata Gravitas will be longer and look slightly different. In fact, the bigger SUV will have some extra features to offer.

2. Tata HBX

Tata HBX 5 Things

Tata HBX concept based model will mark the carmaker’s debut in the mini SUV segment that’s currently dominated by Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. The production ready model is likely to be close to its concept that broke cover at this year’s Auto Expo. Featuring Tata’s new Impact 2.0 design language, the HBX will be made available with 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol engine options. Transmission duties will be done by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

3. Tata Altroz EV

Tata Altroz EV Launch

Tata Motors has confirmed that it will bring in the electric version of the Altroz premium hatchback sometime next year. The model made its first public debut at this year’s Auto Expo. The Altroz EV is likely to share its powertrain with the Nexon EV – i.e. Ziptron electric technology. While the Nexon EV comes with an IP67 certified 30.2kWh battery pack with a permanent magnet AC motor, the electric hatchback might be offered with a different capacity battery. Minor styling changes will also be made to the model.

4. Tata HBX EV

The model will be equipped with the brand’s Ziptron EV engine that has been designed and developed for Indian climatic and traffic conditions. Details of the HBX EV are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to offer a range over 300km on a single charge. The motor will be able to deliver power worth 100PS against 200Nm of torque.
