Yamaha Tracer 250cc Sports Tourer Could Look Like This

There is no denying that adventure and sports tourer is gaining huge popularity among Indian buyers. We have already seen few of the entry-level adventure motorcycles such as Hero XPulse 200T, KTM Adventure 390 and Royal Enfield Himalayan. These motorcycles offer high ground clearance, better ergonomics and comfortable seat for long touring.

If reports are to be believed, Yamaha is readying an all-new entry-level sports tourer. This motorcycle is likely to be introduced under the company’s Tracer nameplate. A new rendering reveals the possible design of the new Yamaha Tracer 250. The rendering was released by Young MachineY, which is a popular Japanese magazine.

Going by the rendering, it is visible that the sports tourer shares the design with the bigger Tracer 700. This semi-faired motorcycle has a large windshield, USD front forks at the front, MT-15-like fuel tank, split seats, etc.

Details about the new motorcycles are yet to be revealed, but it expected that the Tracer 250 could share the engine specifications with the popular MT-25. Yamaha engineers will tune this engine to meet the needs of a Sports Tourer. The motorcycle is also likely to be based on the same platform that also underpins the MT-25.

The Yamaha MT-25 is powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, twin-cylinder engine that produces 36PS of power and 22.6Nm of torque. Yamaha engineers likely to tune this engine for higher torque, which could impact the power output. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.
