2 All-New Tata and Mahindra SUVs We Are Waiting For In 2021

The Indian car manufacturers, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra have planned a range of new vehicles for this year. Though, we all are waiting for the two much talked about SUVs from both carmakers, which are scheduled to arrive in coming months. While Tata is ready to launch the HBX concept based mini SUV and BS6 Hexa Safari, Mahindra will bring in the new-generation XUV500 and Scorpio.

If reports are to be believed, the production-ready version of the Tata HBX will be named ‘Timero’. The micro SUV is likely to hit showrooms just before the 2021 Diwali season. Its final model might debut in the month of May.

The HBX will underpin the Alfa modular platform and feature Tata’s new Impact 2.0 design language. Most of its design elements will be borrowed from the Harrier, especially the front fascia. It’s likely to be offered with 86bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 100bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engine options.

Tata has also been testing the new Hexa Safari for quite sometime. The model will come with the BS6-compliant 2.2L Varicor turbocharged diesel engine that’s good for 156bhp and 400Nm. The oil burner will be available with the 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options along with the 4X4 drivetrain system. Similar to the showcased model, the final version is likely to be painted in Camo Green colour.

The 2021 Mahindra Scorpio, on the other hand, will come with a 152bhp, 2.0L mStallion petrol and a 158bhp, 2.2L diesel engine.
