The Maruti Vitara Brezza is only available in diesel version. This sub-4 meter model is priced between Rs 7.68 lakh and Rs 10.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the flip side, the Hyundai Venue is most likely to arrive as a premium model and will be positioned slightly higher in terms of pricing. The diesel Venue is likely to be priced somewhere between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 11 lakh.

Both these SUVs come under 4 meter in length and have equal length and wheelbase of 3,995 and 2,500 respectively. The Venue is 20mm narrower and 50mm shorter than the Vitara Brezza. The Brezza measures 3,995mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,640mm in height, while the Venue is 3,995mm long, 1,770mm wide and 1,590mm tall. The Brezza comes with a ground clearance of 198mm. The Brezza is currently available in a single diesel engine option, which is a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre MJD. This engine is capable of producing 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. Maruti is also working the petrol version of the Brezza, which is likely to get the 1.2-litre DualJet engine. The company has already announced that it will phase out the diesel engine from the Indian market, which clearly suggests that the Brezza will only be available in petrol version.
The Hyundai Venue will be available with 3 engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol with 6-speed MT & a 7-speed DCT, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol with 5-speed MT and a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel with a 6-speed MT. While the turbocharged petrol engine produces 118bhp and 172Nm, the 1.2L unit offers 83bhp and 115Nm. The diesel engine belts out 89bhp of power and 220Nm of torque.
