TVS Creon Electric Scooter Launch Likely This Financial Year
The first TVS electric scooter will go on sale before the end of this financial year
TVS Motor Company has officially announced that the first electric product from the company will arrive before the end of this financial year. The announcement was made at the Full Year 2019 Earnings Conference Call. The homegrown automaker has invested heavily in electric technology. More details about the new Electric Scooter will arrive closer to the launch.
It is expected that the first TVS electric vehicle could be based on the TVS Creon concept, which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. It is a performance oriented electric scooter that has been designed keeping in mind the global dream for a green future and uncompromised performance. The TVS Creon concept was equipped with smart connected technology, which was developed with the help of Intel. The scooter is equipped with a colour TFT instrument console, which is compatible with navigation and geo-fencing. Additionally, the console displays the speedometer, battery charge and, health status, tachometer, trip meter and odometer.
The TVS Creon concept also offers a host of connectivity features like 3 custom riding modes, cloud connectivity, regenerative braking, park assist, safety, anti-theft, etc. It is based on an aluminum lightweight perimeter frame. The concept was equipped with diamond cut alloys, dual disc brakes, single-channel ABS, a smart phone charger, all LED lights, etc. Media reports claim that the TVS Creon could be the first scooter to feature the Parking Assist System to make parking easy even in crowded or tight parking areas. To activate the system, the speed of the scooter needs to be below 6kmph.
The TVS Creon is equipped with a 3 state-of-the-art Li-ion batteries offering 12kW of instant power. It is claimed to achieve 0 to 60kmph in less than 5.1 seconds and offers an electric range of 80km. This scooter can be charged up to 80% in just 60 minutes.
