In order to mark strong presence in the premium segment, Maruti Suzuki India has recently launched its highly anticipated Ciaz mid-sized sedan. This sedan has received an overwhelming response from car buyers, and has managed to outsell its closest rival Honda City. The company is now trying hard to maintain the same positive environment for the Ciaz saloon, and is gearing up to launch the more “sportier” variant of the standard model. The sportier Ciaz has been spotted testing for the first time on Indian roads, and is claimed to get RS badge.

The Maruti Ciaz RS won’t see any mechanical upgrades; the changes would be given to the exterior and interior styling. Just like other Maruti’s, the sportier model will also get ‘Aero-Kits’. The pictures suggest that the saloon features a new chin-spoiler at the front, rear diffuser, side skirts and new rear spoiler.

Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 16-inch alloy wheels, offered on the standard top-spec Z trim. However, the alloys are painted in new dull gray shade. The updated alloys will add some sporty character to the sedan. At the back, the boot-lid gets black finish complemented by black finished front air dam.

The interiors of the sportier Ciaz are expected to get a more premium infotainment system with built-in navigation system and touchscreen display. The infotainment system is compatible with Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in, CD/MP3 player and others. The other changes expected are new sporty seat covers, new pillows, illuminated door sills and more leather treatment.
