BS6 Mahindra XUV500 Online Bookings Begin Ahead of Launch
Recently, Mahindra & Mahindra revealed the variant-wise feature details of the BS6-compliant XUV500 SUV. Now, the company has started taking online pre-bookings for the updated model at an initial sum of Rs 5,000. The BS6 Mahindra XUV500 will come in four trims – W5, W7, W9 and W11 (O). The currently available entry-level W3 variant and AWD (all-wheel-drive) system will be removed from the model lineup.
The powertrain of the BS6 Mahindra XUV500 has been calibrated with the DPF (diesel particulate filter), SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and a 2-way oxidation catalyst. The updated 2.2L mHawk diesel motor now gets the new-generation electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger (eVGT).
The power and torque figures of the BS6-compliant engine are likely to remain unchanged. In its BS4 form, it pushes out a peak power of 153bhp at 3750rpm and 360Nm between 1750rpm-2800rpm. Similar to the existing model, the BS6 version will come with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox option. Read – Top 3 Upcoming Mahindra XUV500 Rivals
