BS6 Mahindra XUV500 Details and Variant-Wise Features Revealed

BS6 Mahindra XUV500 Specs

A few days ago, we have brought you variant and feature details of the BS6 Mahindra Scorpio. Now, the company has revealed details of the BS6 Mahindra XUV500 that’s likely to be launched post the coronavirus lockdown. Similar to the updated Scorpio, the new XUV500 has dropped the existing entry-level W3 trim along with the AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. The BS6 model lineup will begin from the W5 trim, followed by W7, W9 and W11 (O).

Powering the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will be the BS6-compliant version of the existing 2.2L mHawk diesel engine. The motor has been boosted with DPF (diesel particulate filter), SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and a 2-way oxidation catalyst. These components help reduce emission levels of the engine.

BS6 Mahindra XUV500 Bookings

The BS4 version of the 2.2L mHawk oil burner returns a claimed power of 153bhp at 3750rpm and 360Nm of torque at 1750rpm-2800rpm. The power and torque figures of the updated motor are likely to remain unchanged. Transmissions on offer will be the same 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic units. As mentioned above, the AWD system has been discontinued from the SUV lineup. The updated model will come with FWD (front-wheel-drive) system only.
