BS6 Jawa, Jawa Forty-Two Launched; Get Expensive By Up to Rs 9,928
Classic Legends has rolled out the BS6-compliant version of the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two motorcycles in the country. The BS6 Jawa comes in three different colours – Black, Grey and Maroon – with single-channel and dual-channel ABS options. Prices of the single-channel ABS variants start from Rs 1.73 lakh and go up to Rs 1.74 lakh. The dual-channel ABS models are available in the price range of Rs 1.82 lakh – Rs 1.83 lakh.
The BS6 Jawa Forty Two has been offered in six colour schemes – Haley’s Teal, Comet Red, Galactic Green, Lumos Lime and Starlight Blue. While the single channel ABS variants are priced between Rs 1.60 lakh – Rs 1.65 lakh, the dual-channel ABS version cost from Rs 1.69 lakh to Rs 1.74 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
Both the 2020 Jawa and the Jawa Forty-Two are powered by a BS6-compliant 293cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, which is now benefited with fuel injection technology. Interestingly, the BS6-compliant Jawa motorcycles are India’s first bikes to feature cross port technology. This system not only makes the vehicle comply to BS6 emission norms, but helps maintaining its twin exhaust characteristic without changing its power and torque outputs.
Similar to the BS4 version, the 2020 Jawa BS6 and 2020 Jawa Forty-Two BS6 delivers a peak power of 27bhp and a peak torque of 28Nm. For performing transmission duties, the bikes have a 6-speed gearbox.
The suspension setup includes telescopic forks up front and dual shocks at the rear. Stopping power comes from the disc brakes, which are further assisted by dual-channel ABS. The entry-level variant gets a rear drum brake with single-channel ABS.
Launched in November 2019, the Jawa Perak factory-custom bobber was already BS6-compliant that’s priced at Rs. 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It uses a 343cc, single-cylinder DOCH engine that’s good for 30bhp and 31Nm of torque.
