MG ZS Crosses 3,000 Booking Mark; Over 150 Unit Sold

In January 2020, MG Motor rolled out its first electric SUV in the Indian market. Called the MG ZS EV, the electric vehicle has been priced at Rs 19.88 lakh for the Excite variant and Rs 22.58 lakh for the Exclusive variant. The carmaker had confirmed that the ZS EV will be sold to the first 1,000 customers at a special introductory price.

Now, the company has announced that the MG ZS EV has breached 3,000 booking mark in the country. In fact, MG Motor managed to sell 158 units of the electric SUV so far. The vehicle is currently available in five cities – Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. The carmaker will introduce the ZS EV in other cities in a phased manner.

MG ZS EV Specifications

Powertrain of the MG ZS EV includes a 44.5 kWh IP6 certified battery pack delivering power to a synchronous motor. The latter one pushes out a peak power of 141bhp and 353Nm of peak torque. Boosted with power electronic (PE) solutions from UAES, its battery is claimed to offer a maximum range of around 340km on a single charge. It can do 0 to 100kmph in just 8.5 seconds. The electric SUV comes with three driving modes (Sport, Normal and Eco) that can be selected through toggle switches placed above the rotary transmission knob. The ZS EV also offers three level of regenerative braking. One can charge the vehicle via an onboard cable (at any 15amp socket), AC fast charger at home/office and a DC Super-Fast charging network installed at select MG showrooms.

The MG ZS EV’s lithium-ion battery can be charged up to 80% in 40 minutes with a 50 kW DC charger and up to 7 hours with a standard 7.4 kW charger. The electric SUV comes with a host of advanced connectivity solutions and comfort goodies.
