Hyundai Motor India is all set to launch the updated version of its popular Verna mid-size sedan in coming months. The carmaker has already begun testing the vehicle in the country. This time around, the sedan will witness comprehensive changes inside and out. In fact, major changes will also be made under the hood. Here, we have listed 5 important things about the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift that you should know.
1. Russia-spec Model
In India, the carmaker might bring in the Russia-spec Hyundai Solaris facelift (Verna facelift) that was recently unveiled via official pictures. The Solaris facelift looks milder than the China-spec Verna that was revealed last year.
2. Revised Styling
Most of the changes have been made at the front making it sportier than the existing model. The new Verna facelift carries a larger and fully blacked-out grille, which is flanked by newly-designed full-LED headlamps. The front bumper looks edgier than before. The fog lamp housing is new and lower air intake has been reshaped. The updated Verna also comes with newly-designed alloy wheels, new rear bumper with faux diffuser and revised taillamps. 3. Upmarket Interior
Comprehensive changes continue inside the cabin as well. The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift comes equipped with a new 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Unlike the Chinese model, the Russia-spec (India-bound) Verna misses out on the virtual instrument cluster.
The central air vents get new design with silver trim surrounding. The updated model also gets a remote engine start feature. 4. BS6-complaint Engines
Under the hood of the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift will be the BS6-compliant, 1.5L diesel and petrol engines. Reports suggest that the power and torque figures of the oil burner could be reduced to 115bhp from 128bhp and 250Nm from 260Nm. A manual gearbox will be standard across the lineup. 5. Expected Price
With BS6-compliant engines and a few new features, the new Hyundai Verna 2020 facelift might witness a price hike from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000. At present, the sedan comes in the price range of Rs 8.17 lakh – Rs 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
