Kia Seltos Prices Increased By Up To Rs 34,000

Korean brand, Kia Motors entered India with the Seltos mid-sized SUV, which was dominated by the Hyundai Creta. Launched in August 2019, the Kia Seltos was priced in the range of Rs 9.69 lakh to Rs 16.99 lakh. The company had announced to increase the prices of the SUV in the beginning of 2020. Now, the company has raised the prices of Seltos by up to Rs 35,000 from January 1, 2020. The new model is now available at a price tag of Rs 9.89 lakh for the base model and Rs 17.34 lakh for the top-end variant.

The petrol version is now priced between 9.89 lakh and Rs 14.09 lakh. While the base HTE model gets expensive by Rs 20,000, the higher trims get costlier by Rs 30,000. The turbocharged petrol version is now priced at Rs 13.79 lakh with prices goes up to Rs 17.29 lakh. It is now expensive by Rs 30,000. The diesel Seltos gets expensive by Rs 35,000 and is now available in price bracket of Rs 10.34 lakh – Rs 17.34 lakh.

The Kia Seltos is available in 2 different trims – Tech-Line and GT-Line – and in total of 18 variants. The SUV is being offered with 3 engine options – a 115bhp, 1.5-litre petrol, a 115bhp, 1.5-litre diesel and a 140bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a CVT automatic (1.5L petrol), a torque convertor automatic (diesel) and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (turbo-petrol).

The Kia Seltos has been a huge hit in the Indian market, as the bookings crossed 1 lakh mark since its launch in August 2020. The SUV is currently the best-selling SUV in its category, beating the likes of Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. The Korean brand is busy preparing for the launch of its second product – the Kia Carnival in India. The premium MPV is scheduled to be launched at Auto Expo 2020. Adding to it, the company will also showcase a sub-4 meter SUV, codenamed QYi at the Auto Expo. This SUV is rumoured to be called the Kia Sonet.
