Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 Launched – Attractive Pricing!

The much-awaited Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles have finally been launched in the Indian market. While the Interceptor 650 prices start at Rs 2.50 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the Continental GT 650 is priced between Rs 2.65 lakh – Rs 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Interceptor 650 is available in multiple colours namely – Orange Crush, Mark Three Black, Silver Spectre Ravishing Red, Baker Express White & Red and the Chrome. The Continental GT 650 owners too can choose from several colour options – Black Magic, Mayhem Grey & Black, Ice Queen White, Ventura Blue and Clean Chrome.

Both the motorcycles share the engine and several components. Power for the 650 twins comes from a 649cc parallel-twin cylinder engine pushing out a maximum power of 47bhp at 7,100rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. First unveiled at the RE’s UK Technology Centre near Leicester, the new 650cc motor is Royal Enfield’s most power engine. It will also be used in Royal Enfield’s upcoming global bikes. For performing transmission duties, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 get a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

The Royal Enfield 650 twins have 320mm and 240mm single disc at the front and rear axles respectively. Interestingly, both the model lineups get dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard feature. Sitting on the steel tubular double cradle chassis, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 perform damping duties via 41mm telescopic front forks and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers.

Some of their key features include a retro-looking twin-pod instrumentation console with analogue meter, a small digital panel, twin-seat and lower clip-on handlebars. The company is also offering a range of inter-changeable accessories, which means you can use the same accessories for both the bikes.
