Talking about changes, the new Audi A3 Cabriolet gets several cosmetic upgrades. The overall design seems heavily inspired from the new A4 sedan, which was launched in India last year. It comes equipped with new Audi’s signature LED daytime running lamps as well as full-LED headlamps and a prominent hexagonal grille with an aggressive bumper. At the back, the cabriolet looks largely identical to the previous model except from the slightly revised tail-lamps.
Like the previous model, the new 2017 Audi A3 Cabriolet is equipped with several gizmos and features. It is equipped with leather upholstery for seats, steering wheel and gear knobs, and a dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and navigation. Other features include a Bang & Olufsen hi-fi sound system and a smartphone integrated music system. It gets front and rear parking sensors with a camera and five airbags as standard. It misses out Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital dial system. Read – Audi Q2 SUV Is Coming To India
Dimensionally, the 2017 Audi A3 Cabriolet is 4.42 metres in length, 1.79 metres in width and 1.41 metres in height, and it has a large wheelbase of 2.60 metres. This lifestyle convertible offers a luggage carrying capacity of 60-litres.
The biggest change is made to its mechanics. Instead of the 1.8-litre TFSI petrol engine, the new A3 Cabriolet gets a 1.4-litre TFSI engine. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 150bhp (down from 180bhp) and a peak torque of 250Nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a seven-speed S-tronic twin-clutch gearbox. The slower capacity engine returns better efficiency, and is claimed to return a combined mileage of 19.20kmpl.
