India’s largest SUV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to launch the first major facelift of its premium off-road SUV – the Bolero. The new Mahindra Bolero 2016 is likely to be rolled out towards the end of this year. The SUV’s facelifted model has been recently spotted testing on Indian roads. The new Bolero will see mild cosmetic and feature updates, while the engine will remain unchanged. Just so you know, the Bolero had received common rail direct injection (CRDe) diesel powertrain in 2008.

According to reports, Mahindra is also working on sub-4 meter SUV (codenamed U108) that will be based on the Bolero.
New Mahindra Bolero 2016 Launch Date
The 2016 Mahindra Bolero facelift is expected to hit showrooms towards the end of this year. However, Mahindra hasn’t yet confirmed launch details of the SUV.

The 2016 Mahindra Bolero is likely to be Rs 40, 000 – Rs 50,000 more expensive than the existing model. The SUV is, currently, available between Rs 6.4 lakh – Rs 8.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The spy shots suggest that the 2016 Mahindra Bolero facelift will receive a re-designed rear bumper and revised tailgate handle. Since the front profile of the SUV isn’t visible in the images, we cannot comment on that. The interior, too, will see minor feature updates including new seat covers, dashboard with new finishing and some other new equipment.
New Mahindra Bolero 2016 Engine & Transmission
The 2016 Mahindra Bolero will continue to derive its power from the same 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder M2DiCR diesel engine that does duty in the current model. This power mill, with a 5-speed gearbox, delivers a maximum power output of 62.1bhp at 3,200rpm and 195Nm of torque between 1,400rpm – 2,200rpm. The Bolero takes 30.3 seconds to mark 0-100kmph with a top speed of 117kmph. The SUV returns an average of 12.4kmpl in city and 15.96kmpl on highways.
