Yamaha XSR125 Retro-Styled Motorcycle In The Making

Japanese two-wheeler automaker, Yamaha is aiming to further expand its XSR lineup of neo-retro motorcycles. The company’s XSR155 has been receiving an excellent response from buyers across the globe. Yamaha is now ready to launch a new XSR125 entry-level retro-styled motorcycles in Europe and other markets. This motorcycle will rival the Honda CB125R, which is on sale in several international markets.

Yamaha XSR125’s type-approval document has been leaked on the internet, which reveals several details including the performance and dimensions. It is expected that the new baby neo retro-styled XSR will make global debut in the third quarter of 2021.

Yamaha XSR155 Launch

The Yamaha XSR125 will be powered by the 125cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that also powers the Yamaha R125 and the MT-125. This engine is capable of producing 14.9PS of power at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 11.5Nm at 8,000rpm. The engine comes equipped with variable valve actuation that offers a better top end without compromising low-end performance.

The Yamaha XSR125 will share the chassis with the R125 and the MT-125, featuring a Diamond frame and an aluminum swingarm. The bike gets 292mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brakes along with ABS as standard. Compared to the XSR155, the new XSR125 is 2mm shorter, 1mm wider and 10mm taller. The motorcycle shares the suspension setup and other cycle parts with the R125 and the MT-125. The neo retro-styled bike features 17-inch wheels shod with 110/70 section front and 100/80 section rear tyres.

Yamaha FZ-X 150 India Launch

Yamaha will launch an all-new retro-styled motorcycle, called the Yamaha FZ-X 150 in the Indian market. It is based on the FZ Fi and FZS Fi, which are equipped with 150cc engine. It will measure 30mm longer, 4mm wider and 35mm taller than the naked sibling. However, the bike has a wheelbase of 1,330mm which is similar to the FZ15. The new Yamaha FZ-X retro-styled motorcycle will be powered by a new 149cc, air-cooled, SOHC engine that is capable of producing 12.4PS of power at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm. This engine is paired to a 5-speed, constant mesh transmission.
