Yamaha FZ-X 150 Spotted Near Atal Tunnel; Launch Soon

We informed you earlier that Yamaha is developing a new motorcycle, which will be called the Yamaha FZ-X. It will be a new 150cc motorcycle, which will be based on the FZ Fi and the FZS Fi. The new motorcycle is a retro-styled bike inspired by the XSR bike. The production model FZ-X has been spotted testing near Atal tunnel.

A total of three FZ-X motorcycles were caught testing in 3 different colours – Blue, Orange and Black. The motorcycle was caught during the launch TVC. The spy images reveal that Yamaha FZ-X will come with an entirely different body compared to the naked streetfighter.

Leaked document reveals that the upcoming Yamaha FZ-X will measure around 30mm longer, 4mm wider and 35mm taller than the naked sibling. It measures 2,020mm in length, 785mm in width and 1,115mm in height. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1,330mm, which is similar to the FZ15.

The Yamaha FZ-X design will be a retro-styled motorcycle, featuring a conventional teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular headlamp, boomerang-shaped radiator guard, flat seat, upright handlebars and center-set footpegs. The motorcycle will have relaxed ride posture, which should improve its highway cruising. The Yamaha FZ-X will come equipped with an upswept exhaust and a digital instrument console.

Suspension mechanism of the motorcycle will comprise of telescopic forks at the front and 7-step adjustable monocross at the rear. For braking duties, the motorcycle will get 282mm disc at the front and 220mm disc at the rear. The bike will get single channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard. The new Yamaha FZ-X retro-styled motorcycle will be powered by a new 149cc, air-cooled, SOHC engine that is capable of producing 12.4PS of power at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm. This engine is paired to a 5-speed, constant mesh transmission. The new motorcycle will join the FZ, R15 and MT15 in the 150cc segment. It is expected to be priced around Rs 1.10 lakh.
