Yamaha FZ-X First Clear Image Reveals Interesting Details

The first spy picture of the upcoming Yamaha FZ-X adventure motorcycle has been emerged on the web. The model looks production-ready featuring a teardrop shaped black fuel tank, circular headlamp, a boomerang-shaped radiator guard and aluminum brackets on either side. You can also notice the fork gaiters on the telescopic forks and dual purpose tyres.

The bike is likely to get LED taillamp and the turn signals with the conventional lighting. Recently, a test mule of the new Yamaha bike was spotted testing in the country. The spy images confirm that the Yamaha FZX will borrow some of its design elements with the FZ series.

Compared to the Yamaha FZ, the upcoming adventure bike will have bigger dimensions. While the former measures 1990mm in length, 780mm in width and 1080mm in height, the latter is reported to 2020mm long, 785mm wide and 1115mm tall. The wheelbase, however, remains unchanged. Both bikes have a 1330mm long wheelbase.

For power, the new Yamaha FZ-X adventure bike will use a 149cc, air-cooled SOHC engine sourced from the FZ. The motor comes paired to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. It’s capable to deliver a maximum power of 12.4PS at 7250rpm and 13.3Nm of torque at 5500rpm. The suspension and braking system might also be borrowed from the Yamaha FZ series. The new adventure bike is likely to feature 282mm and 220mm front and rear disc brakes respectively. It will be further assisted by the standard single-channel ABS. The bike might have telescopic front forks and 7-step adjustable monocross rear suspension unit.

The new Yamaha FZ-X price will be higher than the FZ-S V3 that’s currently available at Rs 1.08 lakh (standard variant). While there is no official word on its launch timeline, the adventure bike is reported to arrive just ahead of 2021 festive season (possibly in the month of September).
