Yamaha XSR 250 Retro-Classic Motorcycle In The Works – Spied

It was reported that Yamaha is working on multiple new motorcycles for the Indian market. The company is reportedly working on a new 250cc adventure bike, which is rumoured to be called the Yamaha FZ-X. Adding to it, Yamaha is also planning to launch a new retro-styled motorcycle in the country. For people not in the know, Yamaha retails XSR 155 retro-style motorcycle in select nations such as Indonesia and Malaysia.

The Yamaha XSR 155 shares the platform and powertrain with the YZF R15 V3 and the MT15. It was speculated that the XSR 155 could arrive in our market; however, a new report claims that Yamaha could develop a retro-styled motorcycle with bigger engine for the Indian market. The motorcycle could come with XSR nameplate.

A set of spy images of a test motorcycle have been clicked on Yamuna Expressway, which is rumoured to be the next Yamaha motorcycle for the Indian market. The spy images reveal that the silhouette of the bike looks similar to the XSR 250 prototype, which was posted in an Indonesian auto magazine in 2019.

The motorcycle features the same alloys and suspension set-up, which we have already seen on the FZ Series. The engine unit also looks similar to the FZ250. The motorcycle has a relaxed riding position, featuring large seat. The spotted bike also gets a larger fuel tank and a digital instrument console.
