Volkswagen Taigun mid-size SUV is all set to hit showrooms in coming months. Ahead of its official arrival, the carmaker has revealed its engine specifications, design details, interior and safety features. Recently, the company released a new TVC revealing design details of its top-spec GT variant. The model features ‘GT’ badges on the front grille and at the rear section.
Upfront has been adorned by LED headlamps with LED DRLs, the signature grille with chrome strips, halogen fog lamp, pronounced bumper with a faux skid plate fitted on its lower half. The SUV has black plastic cladding all around the body. It has been assembled with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Design elements such as bold shoulder creases, LED taillamps and a chrome garnish with a rear skid plate further enhance its sporty appeal.
The upcoming Volkswagen Taigun offers a digital cockpit with active info display. It has a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV has also been equipped with automatic climate control with touch-sensitive buttons, ventilated seats, leather upholstery, a multi-function flat bottom steering wheel wrapped in leather, wireless charging, ambient lighting, electric sunroof and more. The carmaker says that the VW Taigun has been built on the India-specific MQB AO IN platform that’s designed to meet the new emission standards. It’s claimed to enhance safety of all occupants. Its engine setup will include a 114bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo petrol unit. There will be three gearboxes on offer – 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DSG automatic.
