The 2021 Yamaha FZ 25 and FZS 25 motorcycles get more affordable in India. The Japanese bikemaker has reduced their prices by Rs 18,800 and Rs 19,300 respectively. Now, the FZ 25 is available at Rs 1,34,800 and the FZS 25 costs Rs 1,39,300 (all, ex-showroom). The company says the prices have been managed by bring down the input costs. The quarter-liter range comes packed with a 249cc, single-cylinder that’s good for 20.5bhp and 20.1Nm. There is a 5-speed gearbox for performing transmission duties. Suspension system of the 2021 Yamaha FZ 25 consists of the telescopic front forks and monoshock at the rear. It derives braking power from dual disc brakes further assisted by dual channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).
In other updates, the Japanese bikemaker recently patented the Yamaha Tracer nameplate in the country. While there is no official information, the new moniker is likely to be used for the upcoming Sport Tourer motorcycle. The company is already selling the Yamaha Tracer 700 and Tracer 900 in select global markets. Reports suggest that the bikemaker is planning to launch a new 250cc Sport Tourer that might share some of its design bits with the Tracer 700. It will be a semi-faired motorcycle featuring MT-15-inspired fuel tank, a large windshield, split seats, and USD front forks at the front end.
It would be quite early to comment on its engine. Though, the upcoming Yamaha sport tourer is likely to share its powertrain with MT-25. The latter one has been equipped with a 250cc, parallel twin motor pushing out a peak power of 35bhp. It has been paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The Yamaha MT-25 was launched in the Indonesian market earlier this year. The bike is priced around Rs 2.87 lakh.
