Mahindra & Mahindra brought us the all-new Scorpio N and the updated Scorpio Classic SUVs last year. In January 2023, the home-grown automaker rolled out its first pure electric SUV – XUV400. Now, what will be the next big launch from the company? While the carmaker hasn’t yet revealed its plan, it’s likely to be the new Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus. Mahindra recently restated its testing in the country. It’s essentially the longer version of the Bolero Neo that’s expected to go on sale in coming months.
The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus SUV will be made available in five trims and two seating options – 7 and 9 seats. The 7-seat configuration can be had only in P4, P10 and P10 (R) trims. The model lineup will also have a dedicated ambulance variant with seating capacity of four adults and a patient bed. Its dashboard design, steering wheel and upholstery will be similar to the Bolero Neo.
Features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls, air conditioning with Eco mode, height adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, electronically adjustable ORVMs, LED DRLs and 15-inch alloy wheels will also be on offer. The SUV will measure 4400mm in length, 1795mm in width and 1812mm in height with a wheelbase of 2680mm.
Powering the new upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will be the same 1.5L, 3-cylinder diesel engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The oil burner makes a top power of 100bhp and 260Nm of torque. There will be no automatic gearbox option. Similar to its 5-seater version, the Bolero Neo Plus will have Eco and ESS (micro hybrid) drive modes enhancing its fuel efficiency. It will come with the RWD (rear-wheel drive) system.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus prices are likely to be around Rs 1 lakh higher than its 5-seater sibling that costs between Rs 9.5 lakh – Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
