Tata Punch is inches closer to its launch. The carmaker has confirmed that the micro SUV will see a release in 2021 festive season that will start with Navratri (on 7th October) and end with Diwali (on 4th November). Its bookings have already been commenced at dealership level and launch is likely to happen next month.
In order to create excitement among buyers, Tata Motors has released a new video showing the Punch in action on different terrains.
Designed on the HBX concept, the Punch micro SUV is expected to come with the two petrol engines – 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated and 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged. The naturally aspirated unit will make power around 85bhp with 113Nm of torque and the turbo-petrol motor will produce 100bhp. The mini SUV will be offered with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Read – Tata Gained Highest Market Share In August 2021
One of the official videos confirms that the Punch will offer multiple drive modes (possibly Eco, City and Sport). It will also come with the four traction modes – Mud, Sand, Rock and Snow. Tata will equip its new small SUV with a few class-leading features including hill start assist and hill decent control.
Interior could be inspired by the Altroz with features such a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery (for higher trims), ambient lighting, etc. One must note that these are expected features. Official details will be revealed at its launch event. Read – Tata Nexon EV To Get More Power; Details Out
The automaker claims that the Tata Punch micro SUV will provide ‘absolute safety’. While its safety kit details are yet to be revealed, it’s expected to include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and central locking as standard fitments.
Featuring Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language, the micro SUV appears a slightly tuned down version of the HBX concept (especially the rear section). Some of its design elements seem borrowed from the bigger siblings – Harrier and Safari.
