Tata Punch Launch Expected In 2nd Week of October – Maruti Ignis Rival

Tata Punch will mark the home-grown carmaker’s entry into the micro SUV segment. Official images of the model have already been released by the company revealing its design details. While its booking and launch date are yet to be announced, we expect that the micro SUV will hit showrooms in the second week of October as the auspicious Navaratri will begin from 7th October 2021. The Punch’s bookings are likely to be commenced in the third week of September (i.e. between 13th – 19th). Read – Tata Nexon EV To Get More Power; Details Out

Based on the HBX concept, the Punch will be Tata’s smallest and most affordable SUV in the country. Its production model retains most of the design elements from the concept, which is surely a good thing. Though, its rear section has been slightly toned down. The micro SUV features the brand’s Impact 2.0 design language with humanity line grille and split headlamp setup as we have seen in its bigger siblings – Harrier and Safari. The heavy body cladding all around, squared wheel arches and upright stance enhance its SUV-ish looks. The front bumper has been toned down and carries the signature Y design motifs.

Interior details of the Tata Punch are still under the warps. We expect it to stay true to the HBX concept with similar dashboard design featuring a free-standing 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Some of its bits might be borrowed from the Altroz premium hatchback including a flat-bottom, three-spoke steering wheel, a part digital instrument cluster with digital tachometer and analogue speedometer, HVAC controls and more. There might be two petrol engine options. The lower variants are likely to come with the 83bhp, 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline unit, sourced from the Tiago. The higher trims, on the other hand, are expected to feature the 100bhp, 1.2L turbocharged petrol motor. The upcoming Tata mini SUV could be offered with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.
