Volkswagen Virtus Sedan Spotted – Is it Coming to India?

Under Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 Project, the German carmaker has planned a range of new models that will hit roads in coming years, starting from 2021. The first model to roll out under this plan will be the Skoda Vision IN concept based mid-size SUV, followed by the Volkswagen Taigun. Both models will be based on the brand’s new MQB A0 platform and placed against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Skoda Auto and Volkswagen India will also introduce new sedans in the country.

Recently, the Volkswagen Virtus was caught on camera during its test rounds in Sanghvi, Pune. Similar to the global markets, the Virtus will be introduced as a replacement of the Vento in India. It’s official launch timeline is yet to be announced by the carmaker. Once launched, the VW Virtus will take head-to-head against the cars like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.

On the feature front, the Volkswagen Virtus gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity along with an all-digital instrument cluster, reverse parking camera, automatic climate control, keyless entry, height adjustable driver seat, rear defogger, ABS with EBD, speed sensing auto door lock, ISOFIX child mount and many more goodies.
