Volkswagen Taigun Sound Edition Launching Tomorrow – What to Expect?

Volkswagen is set to broaden its Taigun mid-size SUV model lineup with the introduction of a special edition tomorrow, scheduled for release on November 21, 2023. Named the Volkswagen Taigun Sound Edition, this variant is poised to bring a touch of distinction to the regular model, boasting anticipated cosmetic enhancements.

Although details remain limited at this juncture, expectations include a new graphic on the C-pillar, blacked-out ORVMs, a contrasting black roof, and exclusive ‘Sound Edition’ badges. This special edition is likely to be available in all four existing color options – Wild Cherry Red, Lava Blue, Rising Blue, and Carbon Steel Grey.

The array of features extends to a 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, the My Volkswagen connect app, a sunroof, a cooled glovebox, a wireless charging pad, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, USB Type-C ports, six airbags, hill hold control, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure deflation warning, electronic stability control, Isofix child seat mounts, parking camera, and more.

Currently available with two TSI turbocharged petrol engine options – a 1.0L three-cylinder and a 1.5L four-cylinder – the Volkswagen Taigun offers a power output of 115bhp with 175Nm of torque for the former and 150bhp with 250Nm for the latter.

A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, while the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI petrol engines also provide the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, respectively. The 1.5L TSI motor is equipped with cylinder deactivation technology, enhancing fuel efficiency. The Volkswagen Taigun Sound Edition is expected to offer both engine options.
