Launched in February 2021, the Volkswagen Polo Turbo Editions have been discontinued in the country. Now, the carmaker introduced the mid-spec Comforline variant with the 1.0L, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The motor pushes out a peak power of 109bhp and 175Nm of torque. It can be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 2021 Volkswagen Polo Comfortline Turbo variant has been priced at Rs 7.41 lakh for the non-metallic and Rs 7.51 lakh for the metallic paint scheme. All prices are ex-showroom.
The turbo-petrol engine is also available on the Highline Plus trim. Unlike the Comfortline turbo, the top-end Highline turbo-petrol can be had both manual and automatic gearbox. Its manual version costs Rs 849 lakh and the automatic model is priced and Rs 9.60 lakh. The 2021 Volkswagen Polo hatchback model lineup is currently available in the price range of Rs 6.16 lakh – Rs 9.99 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The hatch also comes with a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine making power worth 74bhp. The gasoline unit is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of features, the Volkswagen Polo Highline Plus trim offers a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility, Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in connectivity, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, 4 speakers audio system, auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, steering-mounted controls, 12V charging port, front and rear anti-pinch power windows with one-touch up and down function, rear AC vents, climate control, cruise control, power folding and adjustable wing mirrors, power windows operation via remote key, front-centre armrest, chrome interior highlights, cornering lights, automatic wipers and 16-inch ‘Portago’ alloy wheels.
In other updates, the new-generation Volkswagen Polo is currently under evaluation for the Indian market. It will be the 7th generation model of the hatchback. The new Polo will be designed on the India-specific MQB AO IN platform that will also underpin the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq SUVs.
