With the upcoming RDE (Real Driving Emissions) norms, Maruti Suzuki will soon update its highly popular WagonR hatchback model lineup. Just so you know, the new, stricter emission norms will come into force from April 1, 2023. The new 2023 Maruti WagonR will be made available with the same petrol engines – 1.0L and 1.2L. While the 1.0L unit pushes out a peak power of 67bhp and 89Nm of torque and the 1.2L petrol engine makes 90bhp and 113Nm. Both engines feature Dualjet, Dual VVT (variable valve timing), ISS (idle start stop) and cooled EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) tech that ensure better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The new 2023 Maruti WagonR will also be available with the 1.0L petrol engine paired to a factory-fitted CNG kit. In CNG mode, the setup offers a maximum power of 57bhp.
The 1.0L petrol version offers a claimed mileage of 24.35kmpl (MT) and 25.19kmpl (AMT). The 1.2L petrol variants offer a fuel efficiency of 23.56kmpl and 24.43kmpl with manual and AMT gearbox respectively. The 1.0L CNG model delivers 34.05km per kg. The new 2023 Maruti WagonR model lineup will come in four trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. The CNG fuel option can be had in LXi and VXi trims only.
The new WagonR will continue to come with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 4-speaker audio system, tachometer, front passenger side seat under tray, hill hold control, speed sensitive auto door locks, central locking with keyless entry, idle start/stop system, central locking, dual airbags, rear parking sensors, speed alerts, seatbelt reminder, ABS with EBD, turn indicators on wing mirrors, front fog lamps, blacked-out B-pillar, steering wheel-mounted controls, rear wiper, washer and defogger.
