Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Maruti Suzuki are ready to launch new hybrid MPVs in 2023. The Japanese automaker has confirmed that the new Toyota Innova Hycross will make its global debut on 21st November, followed by its India unveiling on 25th November 2022. Official bookings for the model will begin with its India debut, while its prices will be revealed in January 2023. Maruti Suzuki will bring in its first Toyota re-badged model based on the Innova Hycross sometime next year.

Both models will share platform, design elements, features and powertrain. The Toyota Innova Hycross, which is essentially the new-generation version of the Innova Crysta, will come with the FWD monocoque platform. One of the major updates will come in the form of strong hybrid powertrain. Reports suggest that the new 2023 Toyota Innova Hycross will come with the 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 2.0L petrol with strong hybrid system.

The new Innova Hycross will be Toyota’s first model in India to come with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). It will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) offering safety features such as lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and dynamic radar cruise control. It will also be the brand’s first car to feature the factory-fitted dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Both aforementioned features are likely to be offered on the upcoming new Maruti MPV.

The new Toyota and Maruti three-row MPVs will also come with a new instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, a 360 degree camera and ottoman function for captain seats. Some of design highlights will include new hexagonal grille with black inserts, revised front bumper with wide air intake, updated headlamps with LED DRLs, newly-designed alloy wheels, black finished B and C-pillars, body-coloured door handles, cladding above the wheel arches, wraparound LED taillamps and revised rear bumper. The upcoming new Maruti MPV might receive a few cosmetic changes that will differentiate it from the Toyota Innova Hycross.
