The all-new Toyota Innova Zenix has been leaked ahead of its global debut in Indonesia. The three-row MPV is slated to have its world premiere on 21st November, followed by its India unveiling on 25th November 2022. Here, the three-row MPV will be sold as the 2023 Toyota Innova Hycross alongside the current-generation Innova Crysta. The carmaker has confirmed that its official bookings will begin from 25th November, while prices will be announced at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2023.
The leaked official image reveals the front three-quarters of the Innova Hycross. Compared to its existing model, the new one carries more SUV-ish stance. Upfront, it features a large trapezoidal grille with chrome surrounds and contrast black finish. The wraparound headlamps with dual layers LED projector units, horizontal LED DRLs and sporty front bumper with faux aluminium elements on each corner further enhance its new look.
You will notice two distinctive side creases stretching across the length of the doors and merging with the wraparound taillamps. The MPV will also come with the newly-designed alloy wheels. With the generation change, the Toyota Innova will receive several features for the first time. It will be the first Toyota in India to come with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Ditching the existing ladder frame chassis, the 2023 Innova Hycross will underpin the TNGA modular architecture. The new platform is relatively lighter, more advanced and efficient than the existing one. It supports FWD (front-wheel drive) system replacing the existing RWD (rear-wheel drive) setup.
For power, the new 2023 Toyota Innova Hycross will use the 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 2.0L petrol with strong hybrid tech units. Official specifications of the upcoming new Toyota MPV will be revealed next week.
