Upcoming Mahindra Electric SUV – New Teaser, New Interior Details

Mahindra & Mahindra has some really big plans for the Indian market. The home-grown automaker is working on multiple new products across different segments and price range. Furthermore, the company aims to expand its electric product portfolio with eight new models by 2027 including four electric derivatives of the existing SUVs and four underpinning ‘Born Electric’ platform. Mahindra is reported to explore electrification of its body-on-frame SUVs (such as Bolero and Scorpio).

In July 2022, Mahindra will unveil the three concepts of its upcoming electric SUVs, which are designed by its UK-based MADE (Mahindra Advance Design Europe) division. A latest teaser video of the upcoming Mahindra Born Electric SUV reveals some interesting details. The concept will have a single rotary knob integrated on the centre console, futuristic lever and bucket seats with wraparound headrests. The LED red lights on the centre console add more to its sporty looks.

The new teaser video also shows its sporty alloy wheels and ORVMs with installed rear view cameras. Previous interior teaser shows the minimalistic theme with a hexagonal, two-spoke steering wheel, a neatly designed centre console and a panoramic sunroof. It gets dual screen setup as we have seen on the Mahindra XUV700. The new Mahindra Born Electric SUV concept will feature C-shaped LED headlamps connected via thin LED strip and slim LED taillamps connected via full width LED strips.

Speculations are on rife that the upcoming Mahindra Born Electric SUV concepts could be a compact SUV (eXUV300), a mid-size SUV (eXUV700) and a coupe (XUV900). Talking about the Mahindra eXUV300, the subcompact electric SUV will be designed on MESMA (Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture) platform that was showcased at the 2022 Auto Expo. The model is likely to come with the 40kWh and bigger battery pack options. The production-ready Mahindra eXUV300 is reported to hit roads in early 2023.
