In February 2022, Mahindra & Mahindra released the first teaser of its upcoming three electric SUV concepts that will be part of its ‘Born Electric Vision’ project. All three models, which are slated to debut in this July, have been designed by the company’s UK-based Mahindra Advance Design Europe (MADE) division. While there is no official information on the new Mahindra electric SUV concepts, the lineup is likely to include the eXUV300, eXUV700 and XUV900 coupe SUV.
The new Mahindra electric SUV concepts will underpin a new, customised Born Electric EV platform that will be the core of the company’s EV strategy. Here’s a latest digital sketch rendering, based on teasers, that previews a possible design of the upcoming EV. The model has distinctive C-shaped LED DRLs (daytime running lights), a massive bumper with cladding and sculpted bonnet with the signature logo placed in the centre. The side profile has been adorned by squarish wheel arches, alloy wheels and plastic cladding.

The interior teaser of the new Mahindra Born electric SUV reveals that the vehicle will have minimalistic theme. It has a hexagonal, two-spoke steering wheel, a neatly designed centre console, a rotary dial similar to the XUV700 and a panoramic sunroof. Similar to the new breed Mahindra cars, the electric SUV has dual screen setup and rotary dial integrated on the centre console.
Talking about Mahindra’s EV plans, the company aims to introduce 8 electric cars by 2027. Interestingly, four of them will be electric version of the company’s existing petrol and diesel SUVs and four will be new models based on “Born Electric” platform. If reports are to be believed, the home-grown automaker is exploring electrification of its body-on-frame SUVs including new Scorpio and Bolero.
