TVS iQube To Get A New Affordable Variant – What to Expect?

The TVS iQube electric scooter has seen a significant increase in demand, with sales almost doubling in the first three quarters of FY2023. In April 2023, the e-scooter achieved a sales milestone of 1 lakh units, with a monthly average of over 15,000 units. The iQube is available in three variants – iQube, iQube S, and iQube ST, with the bookings for the top-end ST variant currently closed.

The iQube is priced at Rs 1,23,776 and comes in three colors (Shining Red, Titanium Grey Glossy, and Pearl White), while the iQube S is offered in four paint schemes (Mint Blue, Mercury Grey Glossy, Lucid Yellow, and Copper Bronze Glossy) and costs Rs 1,38,883 (on-road, Delhi). The entry-level iQube and S offer a range of 100km and a maximum speed of 78kmpl.

Amidst the reduction of FAME II subsidies on electric vehicles, TVS is reportedly working on a new entry-level and more affordable variant of the iQube electric scooter. This new variant is expected to come with a smaller battery pack and may miss out on some features. However, it is likely to be priced around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 more affordable than the existing variants.

The report also suggests that the top-end TVS iQube ST variant, which was claimed to offer a range of 145km on a single charge and comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster with OTA updates and voice assistance, may not be launched in the market. In May 2022, the iQube electric scooter received an update, retaining its all-LED lighting system and 12-inch wheels. The base iQube and iQube S variants received a 5-inch and 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, respectively, which supports turn-by-turn navigation and comes with music controls and theme personalization options.

In other fresh news, TVS Motor Company is gearing to unveil a new electric two-wheeler on 23rd August, 2023 in Dubai. It’s likely to be an all-new product that could be based on the TVS Creon concept showcased at the Auto Expo in 2018.
