Toyota’s Version of Vitara Brezza, Ertiga Launching This Year

Toyota Urban Cruiser

After successful launch of the Baleno-based Glanza, Toyota is now ready to introduce the re-badged versions of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ertiga MPV in India. According to the ET-Auto, the Toyota’s compact SUV based on the Vitara Brezza will be launched in the second half of this year (around August-September).

The report further claims that the company will introduce an entry-level MPV based on the Maruti Ertiga in early 2021. For people not in the know, Toyota and Suzuki have entered into a global tie-up in 2017, and the Glanza was the first model under the new JV.

Maruti Ertiga India

Toyota believes that the re-badged Vitara Brezza and Ertiga will help the brand to achieve multi-fold growth in the highly competitive Indian market. Previous media reports claim that Toyota’s version of the sub-4 meter SUV will be significantly different from the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

Not just re-badged Brezza and Ertiga, Toyota will also introduce the revised version of the Ciaz sedan in India. Moreover, the duo will also jointly develop all-new C MPV/SUV that is scheduled to be launched in 2023. The Toyota’s version of the Brezza is expected to receive all-new grille, new bumper and newly styled alloy wheels. The rear design is also likely to be revised with new tailgate, bumper and revised tail-lamp. It will be powered by the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with mild-hybrid system. This engine is capable of producing 103bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.
