The Toyota Urban Cruiser sub-4 meter SUV official bookings to commence in India from tomorrow. The SUV is scheduled to be launched in September 2020. It is basically the re-badged version of the Maruti Vitara Brezza and the second model in India under the new Toyota-Suzuki strategic partnership. 1. Toyota Urban Cruiser Exterior Changes
Toyota has already released couple of teaser images of the Urban Cruiser, which shows the updated styling. The front design looks significantly different from the Vitara Brezza. It gets Fortuner-like front grille with two thick horizontal slats with Toyota logo in the centre, and faux air vents with LED fog lamps on the front bumper. The SUV get LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED turn indicators, LED tail-lights and diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels.
2. Nine Exterior Colour Options
The company will offer multiple colour choices with the new Urban Cruiser. The single colour options include Iconic Grey, Spunky Blue, Rustic Brown, Groovy Orange, Sunny White and Suave Silver. The company is also offering dual-tone shades including Groovy Orange with white roof, Rustic Brown with black roof, Spunky Blue with black roof.
3. What’s New Inside
The overall layout and interior features of the new Urban Cruiser is directly sourced from the Vitara Brezza. However, the SUV gets new colour scheme. It comes with dark interior scheme with black finish on the dashboard, upholstery and door panel inserts finish in brown and silver treatment around AC vents, on door panels and on the dashboard.
It gets the same Suzuki’s 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, automatic air-conditioning, multi-functional steeering wheel and electronically adjustable wing mirrors.
4. What’s Under The Hood
The new Toyota Urban Cruiser will be equipped with a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid system. This is the same engine that powers the Vitara Brezza. It is capable of producing 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.
The manual version of the Brezza comes with the regular petrol engine offering 17.03kmpl of fuel efficiency. On the other hand, the AT model gets SHVS mild hybrid system with fuel efficiency rated at 18.76kmpl.
