Japanese two-wheeler maker, Honda has officially announced to introduce a new motorcycle in the Indian market on August 27, 2020. The company hasn’t revealed the name and any other details about the product, but it is reportedly to be a new 200cc motorcycle. The upcoming Honda 200cc motorcycle could be called the Honda CB Hornet 200R.
Honda is yet to launch the BSVI version of the CB Hornet 160R. The new 200cc motorcycle could be introduced as the successor to the Hornet 160R. Honda has already launched the BS6 version of the X-Blade BS6, which is around Rs 17,000 expensive over the BS4 model. The Hornet 160R with BS6 engine won’t make any sense in the highly competitive segment.
With new 200cc motorcycle, Honda would aim to grab some share in the fast growing 200cc-plus segment. The company has already patented the CBF190 in India. This new motorcycle could be based on the CBF190. The motorcycle is also likely to gets sharp creases all around, which is expected to be sourced from the CBF190.
The motorcycle is likely to receive LED headlamps, small fairing, bigger fuel tank, clip-on handlebar, digital instrument console and LED tail-lamp. Powering the CBF190 is a 184cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 16.86PS and 16.3Nm of torque. The upcoming Honda 200cc motorcycle is likely to be priced around Rs 1.35 lakh. It will rival the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaja Pulsar NS 200.
