Toyota Innova Hycross and Kia Carens MPVs are in-great demand among buyers. While the former caters the premium space, the latter one makes a good package with efficient powertrains and affordable pricing. Since both models are gathering bookings, their waiting periods have increased in the past few months. Here’re details on waiting period of the aforementioned MPVs.
Toyota Innova Hycross – Up to 18 Months
Toyota Kirloskar Motor rolled out the Innova Hycross last year at a starting price of Rs 18.30 lakh. Based on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform, the MPV comes with the 2.0L, 4-cylinder Atkinson and 2.0L petrol (non-hybrid) powertrains. While the strong hybrid setup delivers 184bhp with an e-Drive transmission, the non-hybrid version makes 172bhp with 205Nm when paired to a CVT gearbox. Both powertrains can be had with the FWD (front-wheel drive) system. The Toyota Innova Hycross strong hybrid that’s claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 23.24kmpl, has been attracting more bookings than the non-hybrid version. Currently, it commands a wating period of up to 18 months. Its prices fall within the range of Rs 18.30 lakh – Rs 28.97 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The Innova Hycross automatic is priced between Rs 19.15 lakh – Rs 28.97 lakh.
Kia Carens – 10-11 Months
Kia Carens was introduced with three engine options – a 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 140bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol and a 115bhp, 1.5L diesel. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard across the model lineup. While the turbo-petrol unit can be had with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the diesel gets an optional 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Kia Carens has a waiting period between 10 to 11 months in select cities. If reports are to be believed, the carmaker might discontinue diesel manual variants of the Carens towards the end of this year. Price of the Carens start from Rs 10.20 lakh and go up to Rs 18.45 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
