Kia Carens Prices Hiked; Now Costs Rs 10 Lakh For Base Variant

The Kia Carens was launched at an introductory price ranging from Rs 8.99 lakh – Rs 16.99 lakh in February 2022. The MPV received its first price hike (of up to Rs 70,000) in April, followed by the latest hike of Rs 50,000 (depending on variants). Save for the Luxury manual 7-seater variant that gets expensive by Rs 35,000, the SUV’s most variants witnessed a uniform price hike of Rs 30,000.

After the fresh price hike, the Carens’s base variant costs Rs 9.99 lakh and the top-end Luxury Plus Diesel 6AT model is available at Rs 17.99 lakh. The 1.5L Prestige 7-seater 6MT variant that sits just above the entry-level model, witnessed the maximum price hike in the model lineup. With price hike of Rs 10,000, the 1.4L Premium and Prestige manual variants are now available at Rs 11.30 lakh and Rs 14 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.

The Kia Carens comes with three engine options – a 115hp 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 140hp 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, and a 115hp 1.5-litre diesel. All three motors can be had with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the turbo-petrol and diesel have also been offered with automatic gearbox options. The turbo-petrol is available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the oil burner gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5L petrol engine is being offered with the Premium and Prestige trims only. The Carens’ all variants can be had with the turbo petrol and diesel engine. One must note that the diesel automatic is available only on the range-topping Luxury Plus trim and the turbo-petrol DCT can be had in the mid-spec Prestige Plus and top-end variants. The Kia Carens petrol and diesel are claimed to deliver fuel economy of 16.5kmpl and 21.5kmpl respectively.

Features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the connected car tech, wireless phone charging, cruise control, keyless go, ventilated front seats, auto climate control and rear view camera are reserved for the top-end trim.
