Toyota Innova Hycross 3D Model Leaks; Sunroof Confirmed

Scheduled to be launched in mid-November in Indonesia, new details about the Toyota Innova Hycross or Zenix have been leaked on the Internet. Toyota has already shared a teaser that reveals the front face of the new 3-row MPV. A new set of images leaked online reveals the overall shape of the new Innova. The new images also confirmed that the 3-row MPV will come with a factory-fitted electric sunroof.

The latest picture reveals the body shell of the new Toyota Innova Hycross, except for the rear. The headlamp design seems inspired by the global Toyota cars including the Highlander. It comes with a trapezoidal shaped front grille with a chrome surround, which looks identical to the Corolla Cross SUV. There is a black strip placed above the front grille. It comes with an all-new front bumper that accommodates large triangular housings for the fog lamps.

The overall profile of the Innova Hycross looks identical to the existing model. It comes with plain fenders, and has similar silhouette and glasshouse as the current Crysta. The top-spec model is likely to come with body cladding. The A-pillar in the new Hycross seems more sloping than the current version. There is a large hole in the roof that confirms that the new Toyota Innova Hycross will come with a panoramic sunroof.

The rear profile of the new Innova Hycross will be completely different from the current Innova Crysta. The shape of the glass between the C and D pillars is completely new, and appears more in-line with the Toyota Veloz. There is a strong crease around the rear fenders which also shares similarities with the Veloz. The report claims that the tail-lights of the new model will have similarities with the tail-lights of the Rush.

The new model will ride on 2,850mm wheelbase and will measure around 4.7 meters in length. The larger wheelbase will help Toyota to create more space inside the cabin. The MPV will come with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS). It is Toyota’s ADAS tech with features like automatic emergency brakes, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, road sign assist, dynamic radar cruise control and automatic high beam.

The new Innova Hycross will be based on the lighter monocoque platform instead of the ladder-frame architecture. In fact, the RWD (rear-wheel drive) will be replaced with the FWD (front-wheel drive) setup. The MPV will come with two engine options – a 2.0L petrol and a 2.0L petrol with a strong hybrid tech. The vehicle could get the heavily localized version of the THS II (Toyota Hybrid System), which has a twin-motor layout that enhance its high ‘step-off’ torque and fuel efficiency.
