Japanese automaker, Toyota has increased the prices of the strong hybrid version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in the country. The Toyota Hyryder hybrid is now expensive by up to Rs 50,000. It is available in 3 trim levels – S, G and V – and is now priced between Rs 15.61 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The strong hybrid has received a uniform price hike of Rs 50,000 across the range. The SUV was launched last year at the introductory price tag of Rs 15.11 lakh for base model and Rs 18.99 lakh for the top-end model. The SUV is now available in the price bracket of Rs 15.61 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Specifications
The Hyryder SUV was the first model in its category to be equipped with a strong-hybrid powertrain. It is powered by Toyota’s 1.5-litre 3-cylinder TNGA Atkinson cycle engine that produces 92bhp and 122Nm of torque, and is paired to an eCVT gearbox. The powertrain is paired to an electric motor that produces 79bhp and 141Nm of torque. The combined power output stands at 114bhp. It is fitted with a 0.76kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 27.97kmpl.
The regular petrol version is powered by a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine that powers the Maruti Brezza and the Grand Vitara. This engine is capable of producing 103PS of power and 137Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The top-spec manual version also comes with AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) system. The Hyryder manual is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 21.11kmpl, while the AWD version returns 19.38kmpl.
In terms of proportions, the Toyota Hyryder SUV is 4365mm long, 1795mm wide and 1645mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2600mm and the segment’s largest ground clearance of 210mm. Compared to its sibling rival, the Grand Vitara, the Hyryder is 20mm longer.
