Citroen is all set to announce the prices of the eC3 electric hatchback in the country in February 2023. The company is also developing an all-new 3-row utility vehicle, which is rumoured to be called the new Citroen C3 Aircross. This new 3-row model has already been spotted numerous times on the Indian roads, and this time it has been spotted testing in the snow in Sweden.
The spotted model looks larger than the Citroen C3 Aircross on sale in the European market. The new model will be based on the Stellantis CMP platform, which also underpins the Citroen C3 hatchback on sale in India. It will target emerging markets and will be the second model of the C-Cubed project.
The spotted model was fully covered in thick cloth; however, some details are revealed. It comes with a split headlamp setup with the daytime running lights positioned on top and the main headlights placed below. The spotted model was fitted with halogen lamps. It also has a divided front grille, one adjacent to the main headlights and one placed lower on the bumper. Similar to the C3 hatchback, the new Citroen C3 Aircross will have rectangular shaped tail-lights.
The new Citroen C3 Aircross features pronounced fenders with the plastic moldings on the wheel arches. In addition to it, the new model will have design elements similar to the typical SUV than a minivan. It will measure above 4 meters in length and will ride on a longer wheelbase compared to the hatchback model. It will have shorter front and rear overhangs.
The new Citroen UV is expected to be offered with two seating layouts – 5 and 7-seats. With all three seats in position, the SUV won’t offer a usable boot space. The SUV will have a flexible seating option to create more luggage space of luggage. It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 110bhp and 190Nm of torque.
The Brazilian media reports that the small SUV could be fitted with the Stellantis 1.0-litre turbo engine that produces up to 130bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options could be on offer.
