The long-awaited Toyota Hilux lifestyle pick-up has finally been launched in the Indian market. The new model is available in 3 variants – 4×4 MT Standard, 4×4 MT High and 4×4 AT High. The Hilux base variant is available at a starting price of Rs 33.99 lakh, which goes up to Rs 36.80 lakh for top-end variant.

The Toyota Hilux lifestyle pick-up will target buyers who aspire a vehicle for off-roading and adventure drives along with the day-to-day purposes. The new lifestyle pickup truck is assembled at the company’s Karnataka based plant with 30 percent localisation and 70 percent imported components.
The new Toyota Hilux comes with as a premium alternative to the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross that costs between Rs 18.05 lakh and Rs 25.06 lakh. It is powered by a 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engine that powers the Fortuner. This engine is capable of producing 204bhp of power and 420Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. With automatic gearbox, this engine offers 500Nm of torque.
Toyota has calibrated the powertrain for load-lugging and serious off-roading. The pick-yp truck gets 4WD (four-wheel drive) system as standard. The pick-up has front and rear differential locks and has an approach angle of 29 degrees and a departure angle of 26 degrees.
The new Toyota Hilux pick-up offers a water wading capacity of 700mm. It is based on the IMV ladder-frame chassis that also underpins the Fortuner and the Innova Crysta. The pick-up truck offers a flatbed measuring 1,555 x 1,540mm with a load capacity of 470-litres.
The new Toyota Hilux comes with a piano-black grille with chrome surround, flanked by LED projector headlamps with DRLs. It comes with L-shaped fog lamp surrounds, ORVMs with chrome treatment, chromed door handles, LED tail-lights and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the lifestyle pick-up gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & android Auto support, reversing camera, leather upholstery, push start-stop button, dual-zone automatic AC, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, upper cooled glovebox and heat rejection windows.
