Upcoming Toyota Hilux – 30% Localisation, Higher Pricing

Toyota recently unveiled the India-spec Hilux lifestyle pickup truck that will go on sale in March 2022. Its launch date, however, is yet to be revealed. The company says that the Toyota Hilux will target buyers who aspire a vehicle for off-roading and adventure drives along with the day-to-day purposes. It will be a product for customers who want to “make a statement”.

While its official prices will be announced in a couple of months, the pickup truck is reported to be priced around Rs 34 lakh – Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to its arch rival – Isuzu D-Max V-Cross that costs between Rs 18.05 lakh – Rs 25.06 lakh, the Hilux will be quite expensive. Toyota’s new lifestyle pickup truck will be assembled at the company’s Karnataka based facility with 30 percent localization and 70 percent imported components.
