Toyota had launched the Hilux lifestyle pick-up in the country in March 2022. The company had temporarily stopped taking bookings for the pickup, as Toyota was unable to meet the high demand due to supply constraints. Finally, the Toyota dealerships across India have now started accepting new bookings for the Hilux. Customers can also book the lifestyle pick-up online at Toyota’s official website.
The 2023 model year Hilux prices are identical to the 2022 Hilux. It is available in 3 variants – Std, High and High AT – priced at Rs 33.99 lakh, Rs 35.80 lakh and Rs 36.80 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The Toyota Hilux is available in 5 exterior colours – Emotional Red, White Pearl Shine, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic and Super White.
The Toyota Hilux Pick-Up 4×4 lifestyle SUV is designed to tackle toughest of terrains. Powering the vehicle is a 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that also powers the Fortuner. This engine is capable of producing 201bhp of power and 420Nm of torque with 6-speed manual gearbox. The torque output increases to 500Nm when this engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. For people not in the know, the Hilux is based on the ladder-on-frame chassis that underpins the current Fortuner SUV.
This lifestyle pick-up targets buyers who aspire a vehicle for off-roading and adventure drives along with day-to-day purposes. It is assembled at the company’s Karnataka based plant with 30 percent localisation and 70 percent imported components. It gets 4WD system as standard. The Hilux has front and rear differential locks and has an approach angle of 29 degrees and a departure angle of 26 degrees. The pick-up truck offers a flatbed measuring 1,555 x 1,540mm with a load capacity of 470-litres.
The new Hilux comes with a piano black grille with chrome surround, flanked by LED projector headlamps with DRLs, L-shaped fog lamp surrounds, ORVMs with chrome treatment, LED tail-lights and 18-inch alloys. In terms of features, the pick-up gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & android Auto support, reversing camera, leather upholstery, push start-stop button, dual-zone automatic AC, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, upper cooled glovebox and heat rejection windows.
