Toyota C-HR Crossover Caught Testing Again in India

The globally popular crossover, the Toyota C-HR has been spotted testing again on the Indian roads. It was speculated that the Japanese brand could bring some of its global SUVs including the C-HR, RAV4 and the Corolla Cross in India. The Government of India has allowed automakers to import 2,500 vehicles per year without going through local homologation process.

Going by the spy images, it is visible that the spotted model is the Chinese version of the C-HR. The report claims that the spied vehicle does not have scrolling indicators and stripe brake lights. In fact, it gets dor LEDs for both the brake light and turn indicators. There is a premium rear spoiler, but it misses out on a rear centre reflector.

The spotted model was heavily camouflaged, but has Continental stickers on it. This suggests that Toyota could be testing some components with the C-HR. It is designed and developed on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform that also underpins the Prius and the Corolla.

The new Toyota C-HR features bold design language and futuristic styling. Upfront i a sharp LED headlamp design and air intakes, aggressive bumper with a wide central air dam, small LED fog lamps and muscular lines on the bonnet. In terms of proportions, the C-HR measures 4,360mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,640mm. The crossover offers a boot space of 370-litres, which is 70-litre more than the Toyota Innova Crysta.
