Maruti Suzuki is aiming to regain 50 per cent market share in the Indian market. In order to achieve this target, the Indo-Japanese automaker is planning to launch multiple new SUVs along with new generations and facelifts of existing models in the country. The company will introduce 3 new SUVs, which will increase its SUV range to 7 from current 4. Maruti Suzuki will launch the new generation Swift hatchback in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2024, most probably in February. The new model comes with significantly revised styling and all-new interior along with new engine options. The new-gen Swift hatchback has an all-new interior, which is inspired from the new Fronx & the Baleno hatchback. It is equipped with a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. The hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre, 12V, DOHC engine that produces 82bhp and 108Nm of torque. The mild hybrid version comes with a DC synchronous motor, offering an additional power and torque outputs of 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively. The cabin of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire will have similarities with the new breed of Maruti cars including the new Fronx and the Baleno. It will share the features with the new Swift hatchback. Maruti Suzuki will launch the eVX concept based electric SUV in the Indian market in late 2024, most probably around September-October 2024. The company had showcased the Maruti eVX electric SUV concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. This electric SUV will be locally developed at Suzuki’s Gujarat based manufacturing plant. The concept measures 4.3 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width and 1.6 meters in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.7 meters. The Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV will be offered with a 60kWh battery pack with LFP blade cell and is expected to offer a range of up to 550km on a single charge. Maruti Suzuki is preparing an all-new 3-row SUV, codenamed Y17, which will rival the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector and the Mahindra XUV700. The new model is expected to be launched sometime in 2025. Based on Suzuki’s global C architecture, the new Maruti 7-seater SUV is expected to be offered with two powertrain options including the 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid and the 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid. Expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh, the new SUV will be manufactured at the brand’s upcoming Kharkhoda plant. Read More….
